- 【Synopsis】: In Wuhan in the 1990s, an ordinary family: husband Ma Xuewu (Jiao Gang) is the director of a state-owned factory’s office, wife Li Baoli (Yan Bingyan) is a street vendor in Hanzhengjie, and they have a son, Xiaobao (Li Xian). The family moves into a new apartment allocated by the factory, but unexpected misfortunes begin on moving day: Ma Xuewu asks for a divorce, Li Baoli discovers his affair, and his homeless mother insists on moving in. Ultimately, under this series of blows, Ma Xuewu takes his own life. Baoli’s friend Xiao Jing (Zhao Qian) attributes all the bad luck to the poor feng shui of the new apartment, calling it “Ten Thousand Arrows Piercing the Heart”. However, the stubborn Li Baoli refuses to give in and is determined to hold her family together.
